This group of experts identified a list of symptoms characterizing those who were having the most trouble adapting after the death of a loved one. They agreed, based on empirical evidence and clinical experience, that a grieving disorder could be distinguished from disorders of depression or anxiety (including post-traumatic stress disorder).
