The second factor that broke the world of wheat was, shocker, the Order. By making the seas safe for all and banning imperial expansions, the Americans overturned the previous millennia of agriculturally driven conquering. The lands of the First Three all achieved and/or consolidated their independence from their imperial masters. Once-marginal lands the world over experienced explosive growth as imported technologies and inputs transformed the natures of their possibles.
