“You look like trouble, and that’s exactly what I need to get into.”
“Do you want me to go to jail, Sloane? Because that’s exactly what’s going to happen if I let you go and another fucking person in this shit hole touches you tonight.”
“I’m glad to know you are capable of forming those words with your mouth.” “I’m capable of doing a lot of things with my mouth.”
Dominic scoffs. “You think a man could know how your lips taste and not be mad about being told he’ll never get to have that again?”
“Well, I think you know that at its most basic level friendship is about taking care of one another, and that’s what I did on Sunday. I took care of you.”
“Quiet, angel.” He whispers against my lips. “Do you want everyone to know what’s happening in here right now?”
“I think, we’re well past the point of discussing whether or not I like you. As for how you feel about me….” He starts moving, forcing me backward until my back collides with the wall. “Well, you could say you hate me right now, and I’d still want you to sit on my face.”
“You’re so beautiful when you’re about to come.” His gaze is hot on my face, molten lava that burns me up from the inside out. “I can’t wait to have you like this again, but next time you’ll be coming on my dick. Do you want that, angel?”
You put their needs before your own. You take the rain, so they can dance in the sunshine.
“To take care of your needs. You said your skin is starved for touch. Use me to sate your hunger.”
“Sloane, the only part of Tuesday I regret is not thinking about how you would feel after the moment passed.”
“Oh, but I am, angel. If I wasn’t I wouldn’t be considering ripping your panties off, eating your pussy until you scream the walls down, and sending you back to your date with the juices of your orgasm running down your thighs.”
“Don’t worry. I’m not giving you another orgasm until I can tie you down and make damn sure you can’t walk out on me again.”
“And I am the only man that’s allowed to touch you, angel. I’ll give you a pass for tonight since you came here with him, but after that, all bets are off.”
“Jealousy is such a good look on you, I almost hate to tell I haven’t fucked Kristen, or anyone else, in a month. You’re the only person I want, which is why I’m offering myself to you so readily.”
“I’ll do whatever it takes to have you, including letting you use me to fulfill every need and desire you have, but that kind of privilege comes with some rules. Do you want to hear them, angel?”
“I’m not going to sit by and watch him touch you when I can’t. Trust me, angel, this is the only option that doesn’t end with my fist in his face.”
“I own your kisses now, which means you don’t give them to anyone but me. You got that?”
“Every time I touch you is a gift, Sloane. One I don’t know if I’m going to get to keep, which means I want to rush this more than anything. I want to dive headfirst into your eyes and never come up for air. I want to use every part of my body to bring pleasure to yours,
“I could never hate you, angel,” I whisper against her skin. “I’ve always loved you too much for that.”
And if claiming my angel means I’m going to hell…well then, I’ll be a happy inhabitant when my time comes.
I call her my angel because that’s what she is to me. The promise of God’s love in human form, a treasure from heaven walking here on Earth making the lives of every person she meets better. And that’s what she’s always been, even when her presence chafed against my skin and burned a hole in my heart.
My best friend is happy. The woman I love is happy. I can live with a shattered heart if it means theirs get to stay whole.
“Trust me, Sloane. You’re going to want to go to dinner. The payoff will most definitely be worth it.”
“Do you have any idea how beautiful you look when you’re about to come for me?”
“I’d do anything to put a smile on your face, Sloane. Just say the word and it’s yours.”
“Every part of you belongs to me, and I might not be worthy of the job, but I promise you I won’t rest until all of your needs are met. All you have to do is trust me to take care of them. Can you do that, angel?”
“I could never regret you, angel.” He pulls our linked hands up to his mouth, pressing a kiss to my fingers. “Even when you break my heart by saying shit like you hope you’re worth whatever this is costing me emotionally. Let’s be clear, whatever the price is for being with you, I’ll happily pay it. I’ll give up my soul for a moment of your time. I’ll sell everything I own for a night in your bed. There’s no sacrifice I wouldn’t make to hear you laugh, make you smile, or shield you from pain.”
“Angel.” He plants a kiss on my lips. “I’m jealous of the wind that gets to blow through your curls.” Another kiss, this time to my jaw. “Of the fabric that gets to hug your curves all day and the moonlight that streams across your skin at night.”
“Look at me. I want you to watch me while I take care of what’s mine.”
Something about watching her fall apart, and knowing she trusts me to hold her together, makes me feel like the luckiest man on the fucking planet.
