It was something akin to reading your favorite childhood
book as an adult. There was a comfort in the familiarity, and yet a different appreciation for things gone unnoticed before.
“You look like a caterpillar.” I glanced down and started laughing.
“Yes, ma’am.” Rainier retorted and dodged as Lavenia reached out to smack him.
“Fuck, you’re perfect.”
I would belong to no one but myself.
“It has been, is, and will always be you. And fuck, if that hasn’t complicated my life enough already.”
“That’s a good girl.”
“Things got a little intense last night. My pants did not survive.”
“Alright, alright. Let me pull my pants up, woman.”
“Marry me, you beautiful, venomous fool.”
“Every day, you shine, but especially so right now.”
“I know you said yes in the heat of the moment, but I’m not letting you take it back.”
“The parts of you that jiggle are some of my favorite parts, though.”
“It’s more than love, my wife. I crave you, I need you, I cannot live without you; I burn for you.”
