I’m reminded why it was so easy to risk everything for her. She represents everything good in the world. Everything worth fighting for.
I look up at Finn through my lashes, and he’s grinning. “What are you thinking about?” I ask. “I’m thinking about how you’re the most amazing creature I have ever met.” He buries his face in my neck, and I can feel his smile. “And I’m thinking how good it feels to be right.” “Right about what?” I ask. “About you being the queen this realm needs.”
“Pick a star,” he whispers in my ear. “Make a wish.” I thread my fingers through his and make the same wishes I’ve made every night since taking the throne. The only wishes a queen should hold so dear. I wish for peace. I wish for every faerie in my court—in the entire realm—to know and have a love like this.
