Every time someone says out loud that they are bisexual, or gay, or a lesbian, or any other nonheterosexual identity, they are helping to give a voice to those who cannot have one. Visibility is absolutely essential to affording people around the world basic human rights. Reminding people that we exist and live among them makes it much harder to dehumanize us.
