He… felt things. And it terrified him.
For example, if he wanted a human friend—they were called friends, not pets—it wasn’t as easy as picking one out from a crowd, though he still thought it ought to be.
He was smelling her. It was animalistic, inhuman, and yet… the muscles in her lower abdomen clenched with a sudden wave of arousal.
So what if he was a little feral. The whole sniffing and biting thing was really doing it for her.
“What can I say? I love a good anti-hero.”
“She’s mine.” “Is she? Because it seems to me you’re hiding on the roof rather than claiming her.”
“Well, if you don’t want her, maybe I’ll—” Mist swung his head around and snarled, simultaneously ripping the entire brick out of the wall and throwing it at Raum.
“Why?” “Because.” “Because why?” “Do you ever shut up?” “Nope. Why?”
“I swear to fucking god if you both don’t shut up, I’ll rip your tongues out, shove them up your asses, and then strangle you with your own intestines.” “Sounds kinky,” Meph said.
“A demon takes pride in his teeth and claws. You’ve paid me a great compliment.”
So basically, judging by the look on his face, it was the demon equivalent of stroking his muscles and calling him manly.
No man had ever looked at her like that—half with wonder, half with a near-frightening possessive intensity.
She briefly thought that with a few kisses, he may have ruined human men for her for life.
A gigantic, vein-wrapped, silky-smooth, gray dick.
“You shouldn’t care.” “You don’t get to decide that for me.”
“You’re mine, and if you try to escape, I will hunt you, and I will kill anyone who touches you.”
She wanted to surrender. She wanted to be his.
“When I’m with you, the rest of the world fades away.”
“A lie of omission is still a lie.”
“I’ll shove you through like Winnie the Pooh if you get stuck.”
“You are everything good in my world, Lily. You are my freedom. There is nothing I value more, and I no longer have the desire to hunt because I know I have already found the most precious treasure in existence.”
He had not exaggerated when he called her the most precious treasure in existence.
This was love, and it was the greatest feeling in the world. In all the worlds. In all creation.
“Mine,” he said, resting his chin on top of her head and wrapping her up in his arms, wings, and even his tail.
“I love you too. So much. I couldn’t stop if I tried.” “Don’t try,” he growled, and she snorted.
“Okay, Mist-erious.”
“You will come with me?” She smiled. “Of course I will. You know I’ll follow you anywhere. Even to the pits of Hell.”
You were straight badass. You saved your demon boyfriend from his evil mistress or whatever. You’re a hero. Act like it.”
