“Birdie, your dad is a fucked up son of bitch.” The moist press of his lips moves against my ear. “When I meet him, it's going to be a problem. For him. But until that happens, why don’t you throw out every goddamn thing you learned from him? No more walking off ax wounds, no more looking out for Shay so he can eat in peace. You got him through the rough waters. He’s safe here, and now it’s time to take a break and let us be the lookouts.” His voice gets rougher. “You’d be a shit sister if you didn’t use this time to rest up. So, if Mal wants to bandage you up, you let him. If I give you something to eat, you eat it.” He sighs. “When Hayes wraps your hair up in silk and spends hours working lotion into every last inch of your skin, you let him. Why? Because it would piss off your dad. Isn’t that reason enough?” Tilting my head back to face him, he wings a brow up and winks at me.

"Dude, even for you, this is next level insane. Does every room have an 'in case of omega emergency' kit?" Aiden asks, giving Hayes a look of grudging admiration as Ava sighs and sinks deeper into Aiden’s hold.

Sure, it's leaching out all cramps in my feet, but nature intended water to be cool. This whole hot tub is unnatural, a big ole' pot of people soup.
