So you don’t want your first pitch to be in front of the very top VC in your area. VCs talk to each other, so if one casts you aside, the others in that class may pass as well. If you can, pitch a “friendly” VC first—one that will give you feedback and help you improve and then, hopefully, welcome you back a second time. Remember that you don’t have to come in perfectly polished for that first meeting. You can say, “I’d like to give you an early look at this. Maybe it would be of interest to you.
