I’d already had my fair share of death. I didn’t want to be the reason someone died anymore. At least when in regards to humans.
Some creatures shouldn’t have mates— and I’d always classified him as one that shouldn’t. But, it gave me the chance to challenge him. He wanted someone who would submit, but that submission would come with a price.
How come when people died, their mistakes could still weigh on people’s shoulders?
“You will still dance. But you will not dance for them, you will dance for me. You may show your body to them, but no one will ever touch you after this point unless I let them. Or they will die.” Fuck. “I’m not a good man, Noah. But I will take care of you. You’re alone in this world, and so am I. I’m tired of being alone.”
