She couldn’t get used to how quiet the house was. She kept coming into the garage and hoping that she would see her dad working on the Chevy Camaro, only to break down when she realized that she would never again see him working on his project. He’d never call her “Fixer Girl” again or give her valuable tips when working on stuff. She’d never come home and shout “I’m home, Dad!” and smell his famous mac and cheese that she loved so much, which he made every time she returned from duty.
