She couldn’t get used to how quiet the house was. She kept coming into the garage and hoping that she would see her dad working on the Chevy Camaro, only to break down when she realized that she would never again see him working on his project. He’d never call her “Fixer Girl” again or give her valuable tips when working on stuff. She’d never come home and shout “I’m home, Dad!” and smell his famous mac and cheese that she loved so much, which he made every time she returned from duty.

The SeaDevil was filled with water. She was in a suit, and the only thing protecting her from the horrible death by drowning was the thin helmet that she had over her head. The thought of the door of the SeaDevil opening and letting her out brought comfort to her, but only for a split second until her brain realized that there was simply more water out there; more imminent death.
She wondered for a moment how many dead bodies there were across the world in the oceans. She knew for a fact that there were around three million shipwrecks at the bottom, which meant that there were probably way more skeletons. She suddenly saw the ocean as a mass grave.
