My gaze falls to her face quickly, unable to stay focused on anything but her parted lips and eyes so heated I can almost feel them lighting a match to my insides, burning me alive from the inside out.

“Right, the guy you ran off on after he rattled your insides like no other guy has before.” She shakes her head like a disappointed parent.

Or, just maybe, they could be struggling with the realization that their life means nothing past boxing matches and pussy, yet not have the want or fire under their ass to do anything more. Wait, that one’s just me.

“You wanna know something?” He doesn’t wait for me to respond before pushing away from the wall and taking two large steps toward me. “It hurt my feelings when you ditched me the other morning. I had big, big plans for you.”

“Don't go shy on me now, baby. We both know you're anything but.”

“So, are you going to run away from me again? Or have I convinced you that it’s no use?”

Braden’s face falls in my neck again and he shutters a breath against my skin, thrusting up slowly between my legs. “We need to go home, baby.” I nod quickly, anxiously, unable to pretend like that’s not exactly what I want. “Then take me home.”

“The way you light up when you see each other and grin until your cheeks hurt, that’s how you know you have something special.

“I love her, Dad. I love her more than I thought I could love anything or anyone and I hate it. I fucking hate knowing that to be with her, I have to give her the power to hurt me. How is that fair? How am I supposed to want to do that?”

She excites me, tortures me, and pisses me off like nobody I’ve ever met.
