From the age they could begin to read, children were being taught through popular literature that the best way to live your life is as a revolutionary, manning the barricades to fight against capitalism, “cis-heteronormativity,” and of course racism. Whole industries seemed intent on reprogramming people to make them view the world through a completely clear lens in which there were obvious good guys and obvious bad guys.
