“Let’s just move on. The past is a broken glass. Try to fix it and you’ll end up cutting yourself.”
Come on, Laura, be fair. He gets anxious and emotional. It’s part of why I love him. He’s so thoughtful and romantic most of the time. Not to mention he’s a great dad to Rose. Yeah, but sometimes he deserves a big punch in the dick.
She and Danny had agreed, years ago, to delete all of their social media accounts. No one wanted their old exes and school bullies getting in contact with them out of the blue, did they? No, they had both agreed that social media was for the vain and shallow. Not for them.
“Not now. Daddy’s watching the news.” Rose moaned and asked again, but Danny put her down and shook his head. “I said not now, honey. Go play with Mummy.” Laura rolled her eyes. Yeah, sure. I’ll play with her while I make lunch, tidy up, and suck your dick twice a week, shall I?
“My husband is a bastard,” she said, unable to stop herself from swearing in front of Rose. “Not a wicked man, just a bastard.”
But instead of taking responsibility for his own actions, he preferred to blame his behaviour on other people. I spent our entire marriage being the bad guy, unappreciative of his love, always guilty of aggravating him, but it was bullshit. I was never the bad guy. It was never me who was controlling, cruel, and selfish.
“Every tomorrow is a blank slate and a chance to start again, so don’t cheat yourself by believing that you’re stuck.”
“But you’re not. People always think they have to stick with the life they chose, but that’s nonsense. A life is long, and it happens in chapters.
“Perhaps, but don’t close the door on love just because you gave it to the wrong person.”
