What has my most ‘textbook’ quality ever done for me? Sweet fuck all. Meanwhile, being unusual has bought me a house. It’s such a shame that many of us spend so much energy trying to fit in.

Those resources afforded me just enough self-esteem to keep my head on straight and recognise that letting go isn’t the same as giving up.

My advice is to listen to your body at all costs because your intuition is a lot older than your intellect, so it’s always smarter than your head.

Journalists have asked me on live television, ‘How do you justify your dirty mouth to your child?’ and I’ve chosen to respond with, ‘How did Frankie Boyle answer when you asked him the same question?’ Of course, they hadn’t.

However, women on screen aren’t allowed to have money. In real life, up until very recently, we didn’t even have pockets!
