“Give me two weeks to show you that there is more to live for, more to be alive for. Give me two weeks to make you fall back in love with life.”
Lily is yin in this scenario. She’s in the dark, fighting through pain. She can’t see that yang is about to come. She can’t see because her world is gray and foggy. So, if there’s a chance that I can be her light shining through the darkness, that I can be the yang to her yin, I have to try.
Beauty is also within the darkness. It’s within misery and solitude, even if it’s masked.
If his touch was a color, it’d be yellow. It’s the heat you feel when you rub your palms together. The kind of warmth that floods your veins when your hands link together. It’s as joyful as seeing the little drop of water on top of grass, so simple yet so beautiful.
“I didn’t hear it, but Aaron did. He told me.” He sighs in relief. “Tell me what you said.” He shakes his head, closing his eyes like he’s dismissing his own thoughts, his own words. “Lilybug, you won’t understand it.” “Tell me anyway, I want to know.” “Eres el amor de mi vida, mi sol,” he says. I bet he won’t give me a translation when saying it to my face—in a language I don’t even understand—is so difficult for him. “Siempre te amaré.”
“If you ever find someone that makes you want to rip your heart out and hand it to that person on a silver platter. If you ever find someone that warms not only your bed but also your heart and soul… hold on to them forever. They’re your sun. They’re what’s bringing light into your life. If they can ease your pain by just being there, lighten your mood, brighten up your days by simply being in your life. Colin, Eira, el o ella es tu sol.”—he or she is your sun.
If the choice is between suffering and healing, I choose healing. I should’ve chosen to heal years ago, but I suppose I found comfort
Pain comes in all sorts of ways. Some might hit worse, some less, but there’s always pain in life. The amount of pain doesn’t matter; pain stays pain, and it sucks. It will never leave, will always be present. But it’s on us to decide whether or not we’ll let it consume us.
