I remembered falling. The emptiness and useless screams. My chest collapsing with the air that shot from lungs with a force too great to overcome. Angry gusts of wind rushing past me, while the clouds overhead darkened and slipped from my grasp like vapor. Down, down, down. Not like a feather, but a heavy rock slicing through the air. Then came the whispers: “The sun will turn into darkness, and the moon into blood. And the heavens will shake. But do not be afraid.” With graceless descension, I was reborn into the putrid depths of darkness.
