We believe so deeply in our personal rights in this realm that the very idea of a divine Judgement Day seems impossible. However, as Lewis shows us, this belief is tied to a quest for control and power that has had terrible consequences in recent world history. Not all the human race today has accepted modernity’s view of things. Why should we act as if it is inescapable?
