Isis – daughter of the sky-goddess Nut and the earth-god Geb; Isis was both sister and wife of Osiris, and the mother of his son Horus. Isis was the principal goddess of the Egyptian pantheon, revered as protector of both the living and the dead. Her cult extended beyond Egypt into the Graeco-Roman world.
