It’s amazing how many imaginary people the web holds. I had a perverse thought that perhaps the internet was the greatest fiction our future alien conquerors would ever know from the human race.
It felt to me like we were all outcasts joined together by one common gene undiscovered by scientists. We were all—Jameson, Reena, Alexei, and myself—born into families not our own. We had to go seeking and searching, lifting up every rock, to find each other. We were our own family.
