I reminded myself that I’d promised my mother I wouldn’t break any more rules (and I’m pretty sure pushing visiting students down the stairs is frowned upon).

“Just so you know, Gallagher Girl,” he whispered softly, “I’m going to kiss you now.”
Zach said a really bad word as he inched away from me. (But I doubt DeeDee noticed, because the bad word was in Farsi.)

“Nice one,” Zach said. “Did you learn that in P&E?” “No. Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”
