There was no way they would have reacted calmly to this

I am in awe of people who write good stories. I give five stars easily and, perhaps, too readily. This book, this story I found very interesting, with some subplots and clever things such as the two characters whose writings are shared, one to her therapist, the other too her long-dead fiancée. The main theme, Alice hitting her head and having amnesia about the past ten years, was clever and well-done. I only gave it four stars. Why? All due respect to Ms. Moriarty: I didn’t like the ending. More specifically, I did like the final result, but I felt it was arrived at too — glibly? Too quickly. Frankly, I don’t know what I’d have done differently, except maybe stretch it out somehow, but then it would have become quite a longer book then, perhaps, necessary. You are invited to read the book. I think you’ll enjoy it; you’ll know soon enough, I suspect. Then see what you think of the ending.
