They were chanting a lot of stuff about love but they seemed full of hate.

But sometimes he would resort to calling me “son,” as if I wouldn’t notice that he had forgotten my name again.

That’s the thing with adults. Sometimes it doesn’t matter what you say; they only hear what they want to hear.

She used to say that you can’t tell a child something and expect them to do it without a reason.

“Funny how your godly beliefs go out the window when it’s your bastard kid and your reputation at stake.”
