“You all need to start working now,” he says. “Report to the factory.” He points to where a large group of people are already gathering. They are surrounded by soldiers with machine guns, as if we are dangerous and need to be kept in check. He turns around to leave but stops again. “And you cannot stay here.” With one swipe he knocks down the branches of our new house and our clothes fall slowly to the mud.
