Do you know what’s getting old? Your eggs. Best get that big alpha dick up in your cumquat so you won’t prove that red-headed wankstain right by dying old and alone.
“Because I will have to let you go, and if I give much more of myself, I won’t be able to.”
Mate, it seemed to say,
“If a shifter claims someone, that person usually becomes their mate. The reason is because it usually happens in moments of strong feeling and blind love, and the couple then needs to figure out what to do about it. The effects of claiming are forever. A person can be claimed by multiple parties, but the scent of each is always there. However, mating itself doesn’t require love, like imprinting does. It really just needs the agreement of both parties. If the claiming didn’t happen before the mating, then it will traditionally happen after to further establish their agreement.”
“It’s a draught, not a potion. Potions are stronger, temperamental, and require faerie magic. Luckily, draughts are incredibly hardy, so preparing that to travel is no problem.
It isn’t fair to profit from people who don’t have the money to pay when there are lives on the line. Living shouldn’t come with a price tag.”
“All I have is yours, Finley. You have but to ask.” “Well…” I put out my hands and looked down at my attire. “It looks like I’m already taking the shirt off your back, so what are a few books…”
She said that there was a book for every single moment, and she was not satisfied until she had found it.”
He really should’ve known better than to trust a bookworm in a library.
“Not the books, Nyfain, be careful,” I yelled. Maybe I should’ve been worried about the guy, but ink before kink. The books were the priority.
“Some gemstones are created from the crush of time. Buried deep in the bedrock, they grow stronger to resist the temptation to turn to dust under the weight. When they finally emerge, they are as strong as they are beautiful. You are such a gem, I should think. Your best magic isn’t going to be in the books, Miss Finley. Your magic will write the books to come.”
I’ve never been good at dealing with vulnerability, and you are my greatest weakness. I don’t want to lose you.”
“I never freak out. I, instead, express my concern. Without emotion, of course. Men are not emotional.” “Ah, yes. Men love to sell the idea that they are not emotional, as if anger weren’t an emotion. But it’s not that you aren’t emotional, it is that you store that one emotion up until you explode with it. It’s ridiculous, really.”
I just make a few natural remedies to try to help with the sickness. It doesn’t even work! I’m not doing anything wrong.” “Clearly you are doing something wrong if your remedies don’t work.”
Not in a place where people feel comfortable wondering aloud if the royal healer is lending out her body to the demon king as a means of paying rent.”
He stopped beside me, looking down. “It’s getting late. Time to go. Get your team, and let’s get out.” “Oh, it went well, thanks for asking! Really good, actually. We got a ton accomplished.” I walked on, passing him.
a memory of a golden dragon cutting through the sky, his roar pulsing within me like a command. A call to arms. A leader summoning his people. And now…a mate calling his beloved.
Guys always act like sacrificing anything for a woman is a noble gesture. That’s bullshit. Women are always sacrificing themselves for men and children. It’s literally expected of us.
“I am yours, remember? Heart, body, and soul. I will fight to keep it that way. But now I must go to war. I must, because you cannot.
“Knowledge is power, but sometimes a heart must break to wield it.
You are my true mate.
