Lately I think of my husband as a disappointment turducken: a lack of ambition wrapped in a beer gut wrapped in a statement tee designed for a much fitter man.

It’s the wanting more that’s the problem, generally speaking. One person wants more sex or more help or more money or more understanding than they get. For example, Damian would say I wrecked things by becoming a fame whore. (Correction: Damian did say that, in a text message to his best friend Doug that I happened to see when going through his phone while he was in the shower. He has since changed the password.)
