“I can’t believe you’ve watched our side,” I said. “I don’t watch your side, I watch you,” he pointed out.
“Me neither, but I’ve never punched a brick wall as hard as I could. You couldn’t walk like a couple paces inside and choose drywall? Big difference there, bud.”
“I’m seriously never texting you any important information ever again,” he said lightly, but his eyes looked serious.
“My heart has always been yours, Greyson. For a while I didn’t know if I was afraid to love someone else or if I just gave you all I had,” I told him. “But I think once you love someone so fully, the way I loved you, you can’t just stop loving or turn it off. It doesn’t just go away. I think everyone you love forever carries a little of your love with them. And I didn’t hold back with you. I gave you my whole heart. There was never anything left for anyone else.” I paused; I didn’t want to say what I was thinking then.
“I love your mom. I am completely and absolutely in love with Julianna Louise Hurley and I have been since I was 16,” he told him matter of factly.
“You know you wanna…” I teased, bumping her shoulder with mine. “Or we can just have babies and forget the marriage part... but I really wanna give you a ring and my last name.”
“Juju Louise, I’ve been wanting to do this for over a decade,” the truth of those words almost choked me up. “We didn’t get it right in our Gametime. But I think we were able to get it right in our Overtime. If we’re together, we’ve really won, baby. Marry me?”
