The Moralised Bibles themselves don’t use the term ‘cathar’, instead referring more generally to ‘heretics’. These were the bogeymen of the medieval period; you wouldn’t know if a heretic walked among you, or entered your home, but contact with them was a guarantee of death and damnation.
