“We are honored for you all to meet Damon, named for the warrior god recognized in both our races. Born of meadow and desert, a bridge between two worlds, and the miracle that we never expected.”
Lucien appeared in the doorway again, and I froze with my hand wrapped around a shirt. His gaze locked on mine, burning into me. “Anyone who touched you and didn’t appreciate the fucking gift they were given deserves to die.”
“You have a pack now,” he said in his low hypnotic tone. “This is what we do for each other, no questions asked and no need to thank. We stand together so none of us will ever fall.”
“Bee,” he said, voice a rasp of dark energy. “If Carter touches you again, I’m going to kill him.”
“Right,” he replied softly, clearly not believing a word of it. “Crimson and Bee, just partners in crime.”
He’d already killed once for me, and now he was vowing to take out others as well. It was kind of sweet. “You romance in the oddest way,” I said, finding myself reaching out to touch him.
And there he went again, romancing me like a psychopath. Guess I was one too since I liked it.
But if they can hurt me in another way, I’m afraid they will choose that path.” The shocks continued. “Hurting me would hurt you?” Lucien didn’t mince words. “It would break me.
“Shadow and mine is Shadowshine. Angel and Reece’s is DesertAngel, though I would have been just as happy with Angel and the Asshole.”
“CrimsonBee is your couple name for sure.”
“Holy shit,” I whispered. “We have a couple name.” Lucien’s laughter lit up his face. “Also a complete soul bond, but the couple name is what cements it for you.”
