Parenting in a Changing Climate: Tools for Cultivating Resilience, Taking Action, and Practicing Hope in the Face of Climate Change

Founded in 2009 by veteran climate activist Harriet Shugarman, author of How to Talk to Your Kids About Climate Change, Climate Mama offers education and workshops about global warming to climate-concerned parents and grandparents. Mothers Out Front has mobilized over 35,000 moms in their movement to fight for a livable climate for all children, with an agenda focused on environmental justice, civic engagement, and clean energy. With state campaigns currently active in California, Massachusetts, New York, and Virginia, Mothers Out Front has played an active role in protesting gas pipelines and encouraging local get-out-the-vote efforts. Moms Clean Air Force, a sister organization to the Environmental Defense Fund, enacts a national mission to protect children from air pollution and climate change through state branches and targeted online action campaigns that make it easy for mothers to send messages to politicians about environmental justice and policy. Science Moms is a nonpartisan group of climate scientists and mothers, founded to help climate-concerned mothers take confident action on behalf of our children’s futures.
