Never show weakness. A Lord does not feel. He’s a machine.
knowing that I’ll do whatever must be done. Blakely Anderson will be mine.
“Whatever my girl wants,”
“He’s shit anyway, girl. Fuck him. Well, not literally. But you know …”
Never underestimate a woman hell-bent on revenge. She’ll do anything to make an ex regret what he didn’t appreciate.
I wonder what she would think if she knew what I plan on doing to her.
“I’ll own you, Blake.” He shortens my name, his free hand comes up, and he trails a finger down my neck over my racing pulse, making my body break out in goose bumps. “And I think that’s exactly what you want.”
She’s got her glasses on tonight, and I find them sexy as fuck.
“You tasted like goddamn honey,” I growl, my hand moving into her long, thick hair. “So fucking sweet.” She whimpers. “So fucking addicting.”
“Will you hurt me?” Giving her a smirk, I answer truthfully. “Yes.” She whimpers, her eyes falling closed. “But … I’ll also make you like it.”
My girl wants to give herself to me, and I can’t wait to make her mine.
“Look at me,”
“Don’t be ashamed, Blake,” he whispers in my ear. “You’re my chosen one. Be proud. I know I am.”
“You belong to me now, Blake. And I’m going to take what’s mine.”
“You don’t know what belonging to me means yet. But I’m about to teach you, little one.”
“You’re such a good girl,”
If there’s no pain, then how do you know you’re alive?
“Every touch, every kiss, every ounce of pleasure your body receives will come from me.”
I smile. She’s cute when angry. I’ll remember that.
I hate people in general.
The fact that I’m standing on one of the second-story balconies looking down onto the first floor and watching another man touch what’s mine makes me see fucking red.
“Be careful what you ask for, little one.”
“Why did you let me choose you?” I ask. She gives me a weak smile. “Because you made me feel wanted.”
Matt is just a punk-ass bitch.
“Here’s the thing, Matt. I don’t give a fuck about that. She’s mine right now. And I don’t fucking share.
“You were mine yesterday, today, and tomorrow.” He gently kisses my forehead. The tenderness a contradiction to his threatening words. “And you will continue to be mine forever.”
“We can play that game. Just know”—his eyes meet mine again—“that once I catch you, I will do whatever I want to you.”
She’s become my newest obsession.
She’s mine. It’s just that simple. I’m addicted to her smile, the way she touches me. The sound of her voice. How she says my name. The way her scent lingers on my clothes when I’m not with her. Everything about her feeds a hunger that can never be satisfied. I know it, and she knows it.
only thing I can compare it to is when you’re swimming and come up for air. That burning sensation in your lungs, that tightness in your chest. When you break the surface and get that first breath and feeling the sun on your face. That’s what Ryat is to me. My sun. My air.
FUCK EVERY SINGLE goddamn one of them.
I’ll kill any motherfucker who touches my wife. It’s just that simple.
“Earlier in the shower made me realize I’ve gone fucking soft on you, Blake. Know why?” He doesn’t let me answer. “Because you cried. Because another man tried to hurt you. That’s what I’m trying to protect you from. I should be your biggest threat. But instead, I’m falling in love with you.”
She’s become my obsession, but I know I’ve also become hers.
“I made a vow to protect you, Blake, and I’ll show anyone who tries to hurt you my version of hell.”
I’d set the world on fire, including myself, if it meant saving her.
I know who you are, Ryat Alexander Archer. I’m not afraid of what I see, nor am I ashamed.
“I will kill whoever touches what’s mine, Blake,”
“I can never get enough of you,” he growls, his voice rough. My heart starts beating faster at his words, but I’m still pissed at him, so I say, “Good. Because you’re stuck with me until you die.” Tilting his head up just a bit, he lightly kisses the tip of my nose. “That’s all I want.” “Aren’t you the romantic?”
Your face will heal, your scars will fade, but my love for you isn’t going to change.
“I’ve always been a selfish person, Blake. Willing to do whatever it takes to get where I want to be. And out of all the things I’ve done, you are by far the greatest reward for my selfishness.”
“You think I’d kill for you, but not die for you?” He shakes his head gently. “Silly girl.”
“I’ve risked my life for the Lords over and over,” I say, taking a deep breath. “I will do no less for my wife. She deserves that.”
“Karma is a bitch,”
“No two people love the same way. And everyone has a different opinion on what love actually is.”
“A Lord serves whenever he is called. We’re machines bred for war. And someone, somewhere is always trying to wage one.”
“I’m the kind of man who will crawl across the floor and lick the dirt off your shoes like a peasant begging a king for some scraps. Just to make you think I’m weak. So, when they look away from me, I can slit their throats.”
“Your good girl,” she answers softly. “You’re goddamn right, you are.”
