Go to bed, I’ll see you tomorrow.” The call ended. Did she just hang up on me? Huh. I’d called to do a simple check up on my mom, yet we’d ended up speaking on the phone for over twenty minutes. I wasn’t sure how to explain why I’d stayed on the line with her this long, other than the fact that she’d made me smile more in this short period of time than I had all day.
