I have never given a book one star before this read. In all of the books Greg ILes has written regarding the Penn Cage series I was seriously taken back. So much of the writing made current political references expressing one party as good and the other despicable. If I want to read for pleasure, I don’t want to be exposed to something that you can see or read 24/7. Though the story refers to the deplorable treatment of one race, it also vilifies another race on a regular basis. Two last things, your statement Mr. ILes, ‘people ask me when will we get over something that happened 160 years ago and I said when the Jews get over the Holocaust.’ Not an exact quote, but close enough. Really wrong on so many levels.
