Consequently, in the event of the failure of a denial defense, the United States and other involved states would very likely need to seize back the conquered territory directly. This would require an invasion of the seized state, and because of the location of US allies in Asia, this would almost certainly involve an amphibious assault. As previously laid out, a successful amphibious invasion in these circumstances requires air and maritime dominance or something approaching it.
