Monument Exercise In our lives, I hope most of us have times of poignantly experiencing joy, peace, love, and acceptance. They often surprise us—and then pass quickly. Take a moment to find your own monument to God’s love. Identify a time you’ve felt safe or loved or calm or felt God’s presence. Is there a concrete reminder of that time? A picture, song, poem, or other object you can return to? If not, can you draw or create an image that reminds you of the experience?
