“You just had to let the world know we were here, didn’t you?” He grinned. “How else is Hades supposed to know about the dress?”
Apollo pressed his lips together tightly, and after a moment, he said, “Wanna shot?” “Are you going to poison it?” Again, he offered that crooked smile.
“I’m going to murder Apollo,” he said, mostly under his breath. “Why?” “For fun.” His voice was gruff, and Persephone giggled. “You’re jealous.”
“Mark my words, Persephone. You will become one of the most powerful goddesses of our time.”
“I love you.” A faint smile touched Hades’s lips. “I wasn’t sure I would hear those words again.” Hades’s admission hurt her heart. Her eyes began to water. “I never stopped.”
“Marry me,” he said. She smiled. “Yes.”
