“Don’t run from me, Angel.” My pussy clenches at his words, and I am a fucking goner.
“Dating someone who puts their life on the line every time they walk out the door is not for the faint of heart. It takes a special person to accept that. But high risk brings high rewards, and being loved and cherished by someone whose heart is big enough to be willing to sacrifice for others every single day is an honor. And to ask a person who has made it their purpose in life to save lives and change the world to step away before they’re ready is a cruel injustice.”
“Listen to me. She didn’t deserve to die, but if I can be honest, she didn’t deserve you either. You didn’t steal her happiness, Linc. She gave it to you because you were worth it. You are worth it. Her issues with your job were more about her than you. It was wrong of her to ask you to stop. She put you in an impossible position, and if you had given it up for her you would’ve grown to resent her because you are absolutely right that you were meant to do this. You can’t blame yourself for what happened after the break-up. It’s okay to mourn her, but do not take that guilt on or it’ll eat you

“Tell me no, Angel. Tell me to stop, and I’ll leave right now. We can forget it ever happened or we can slow it down. But if you tell me yes—if you tell me you want me—I’m going to carry you to your bedroom and worship your body from head to toe until you scream my name and then I’m going to bury myself so deep inside you, you’ll still feel me there tomorrow.”
“Angel. Nothing is more important to me than your safety. If you need this to feel comfortable, let me give it to you. I wanna be the only thought on your brain when I sink inside you.”
“I need to taste you. Come here.” “You want me to…sit on your face?”
“Have you seen my thighs? I’m not exactly light.”
“Believe me, Ci. I’ve seen your thighs, and there’s nothing I want more than to have them on both sides of my ears.” “I might suffocate you!”
“If I die between your thighs, I’d die a happy man. Put it on my headstone: he died worshipping a goddess.”
The marks we’re leaving will fade physically, but we’ve embedded a piece of our souls within each other, and I know already that it can never be undone.
So now I’m asking you to trust me to make my own choice with the information you’ve given me. I choose you. I choose to be the person you lean on, the person to keep you safe, the person to be your strength when you feel like you don’t have any.”
“Lincoln, you are a dream I long thought impossible. Thank you for dragging me out of my darkness and into your light, and thank you for allowing me to carry your darkness too. I’ll treasure it the way you treasure me.” Knocked. On. My. Ass.
“I love you. I think loving you was inevitable. I didn’t want it to be, but my soul recognized its match in you the moment you jumped in front of that car. It forced my heart to start beating again, just to answer your siren call.”
Your courage feeds the piece of me that’s been hiding beneath the ashes of my life. Your selflessness calls out to my soul that’s been drifting away so slowly I didn’t even recognize it at first. I feel like myself again with you. You set me free, Angel. So I don’t care if you’re never ready to say the words back to me. I will always be yours.”
He told me I set him free, and I think if I don’t make it out of this, my biggest regret in life will be not telling him he set me free too. He deserves to know that he’s more than worthy of love and he is loved.
“Thank you.” “For what?”
“For loving me when I didn’t love myself enough. For setting me free. For being my home.”
