Do Not Disturb

I would hear stories about women stuck in abusive relationships. I never understood why any of them stayed. I thought they were foolish or weak. It never made sense to me until it became my life.

She told me she didn’t think he was a good guy. But he was just so perfect when he was courting me. There was no way to know what kind of monster he was.

Also, in his warped mind, he assumed anyone coming home early was there to fool around, because that’s what he was doing.
