All I want to do is break her. Shatter her into pieces. And then arrange those pieces to fit against my own. I don’t care if they don’t fit—I’ll fucking make them.
By the time I got out of the shower, the empty cup with plucked petals was gone, depleting me of any warmth in my body. I had immediately called the police. They humored me with a report, but they told me finding a rose in odd places around my house wasn’t sufficient evidence for them to do anything.
All four of them could easily ruin my life. And I would be hesitant to stop them.
Sneaking off with random men, little mouse? If I catch his hands anywhere near you, they’ll end up in your mailbox by morning.
He’s out there. I can’t see him, or even make out his silhouette. But I know he is. I can feel him.
God? I know we don’t always agree on my life choices, but please don’t let this poor man die because of me. I’ll stop drinking. I mean it this time.
Don’t feel guilty, baby. I don’t make idle threats, so consider this a lesson learned.
I killed a man. I brought him here knowing someone dangerous was lurking, and I did it anyway. And now he’s gone.
God, he could crush me if he wanted to. His hand looks big enough to cover the entirety of my face. Or wrap around my neck.
Would he do it to cause pain or pleasure? Does my shadow want to hurt me or love me?
He’s back.
He stares. And I stare back.
I did what I was told to do. Because if I didn’t, I know I’d be next. So this is my confession. I helped him cover up her murder. I’m so sorry.
I have to be quick, he said he’s on his way and I’m terrified. If I run, he’ll catch me so I’m writing this note down in hopes someone will find it. If something happens to me, John, it w
The more you disobey me, the harder your punishment.
Ready for your punishment, little mouse?
Why are you doing this?
You haunt me. It’s only fair I return the sentiment.
You’re so beautiful when you’re scared.
I’m so close, I can smell you.
Quit being a pussy and come out then.
Come find me.
Too scared, little mouse?
I’m calling the police.
Do you remember what I said last time?
Here I come, asshole.
“I want to devour you,” he whispers.
“Are you here to kill me?”
“Why would I do that?” I’m not sure how to answer that. He continues, “I wouldn’t kill you, little mouse. I want to keep you.”
“What if I don’t want you to?”
“Fine,” I whisper. “How long will you search for me before I win?” He smiles. “I’ll give you five minutes before your ass is bent over my knee.”
“Your time starts now, Adeline. Better run.”
“You can come out now, baby,”
“You have ten seconds before I come drag you out.” He takes a step back, and I decide to just go for it.
“You’re very predictable, little mouse. We're going to have to work on that”
“You’re not touching me,”
“A deal is a deal, little mouse.” He looks up at the night sky. “It is beautiful in here. I think it’s only fitting that the punishment occurs here, don’t you think? It feels like we’ve come full circle.”
“NO!”
“Oh yes, baby,” he growls, swinging our bodies towards the wall.
“Let me go, you fucking creepy-ass fuck!” “Keep talking and you’ll just make it worse.”
“We had a deal, did we not?”
“Don’t cry, little mouse,” he coos. “It’s going to get so much worse.”
“I like you scared,”
“I like you begging and pleading. Crying out for God to save you.”
“I like you trembling beneath my touch, uncontrollably.”
“You’re sick,”
“You think you’re only going to beg because you’re fighting for your life, but that’s where you’re wrong. The only way I’ll be sending you to heaven is with my cock.” He grunts out a deep laugh. “And definitely my tongue and fingers, too.”
