This book is for everyone who had—at some point in their life—trouble believing they were worth the trouble.
I could fall in love with as many men as possible and the curse couldn’t even touch me. There was something special about falling in love with fictional characters through words.
Danger! Danger! Abort!
“Call me crazy, my little stalker, but I think I like you,”
“You can’t look at me like that,” I whispered as he slowly backed us up. Despite all the cold water I’d shot at him, his body was surprisingly warm against my back. And firm. And mouthwatering. And heart-quickening. “Why not?” “Because I’m not supposed to like you.” The smile he gave me was soft and then suddenly his fingers were laced with mine against my chest. “But I like you very much, Lucy.”
“What did you wrap around your heart to protect yourself, beautiful girl?” I asked, letting my fingertip trail down from her cheek to her chin. Her eyes cut to mine, and I knew I had her attention. “I see you unwrap it, whatever it is you have around your heart, so I know it’s there. You change when you are with your friends, with Aiden, but as soon as you can, you wrap it back up. I hope it’s not a steel cage, Lucy. I hope you’re being gentle with your heart, taking care of it for me.” She lifted herself up and leaned back on her hands, successfully pushing me away from her face. Her scowl

“Fine. Fine, your voice did me in,” she admitted finally. “Hmmm,” I murmured, gently pushing my finger back into her pussy. “You like my voice, and my hand. For a girl who claims she hates me, you seem to like a lot of things about me.” “Just your hand and your voice. Everything else about you…I hate it.” Pressing my free hand against her back, I flipped her under me again. “Hate is a very strong emotion, Lucy. And you know what they say about love and hate: it’d be so easy for you to tip over that edge into love.”
“Do you like dancing?” I asked, ignoring common sense. “No.” “Oh,” I said, surprised. “Okay.” “Ask me anyway,” he countered. I hesitated. “Will you dance with me?” “Yes.”
“I’m going to un-break your heart, Lucy,” he promised in a low voice. I couldn’t stop my body from shivering. “My heart isn’t broken, Adam,” I whispered back just as quietly. His hand moved down from my breast. Lower. Lower. Leaving a burning path in its wake. A finger teased my opening. “It is,” he whispered, leaving open-mouthed kisses along my neck. Was this making love? Torturing each other until one of you lost your mind? “It is,” he repeated right before he took my nipple between his teeth and pulled. I wanted to close my legs, or touch myself, or hell, hump the couch. “And I’m going to

Adam: Answer your phone, Lucy. Lucy: Go away. Adam: You can’t leave my bed like that again. Lucy: I won’t be in your bed again. Adam: I will be back from Paris in two days with Aiden. Make no mistake, Lucy. We will talk. And trust me…you will come to my bed again. Lucy: In your dreams. Adam: And yours.
“I decided that when I’m writing your story, I’m going to kill Jameson. I’m going to make you marry Adam Connor and then kill Jameson off.” I patted her arm. “That’s the spirit.”
“Love you, Lucy,” Aiden murmured, his eyes already closed. My heart melted in my chest, and I secretly plotted ways to kill the oh-so-put-together bitch. Maybe a heavy camera could fall on her face? That would be fun. Who’d yell at a kid when they offered to give you a hug just to make you feel better? Like who in the fucking world? “I love you, too, little human,” I murmured back and brushed a light kiss on his cheek.
