Niyata-karma, I repeat, is not about sticking to a particular code of pre-decided conduct. Niyata-karma is a very lively and dynamic thing. Every moment you have to be alert and conscious; every moment you have to keep asking yourself, ‘This action that I am doing, this decision that I am taking, is it leading me towards liberation, or have I given in to my ego? Where is this coming from, and hence, what is it taking me towards?’
