This is so amazing. I went to school at U of W - Whitewater back in 1979 and never heard of any of this. A couple guys and I on my dorm floor would drive out near the wilderness between Whitewater and Eagle to look at stars away from the city lights a lot. We would see large animals in the dark but could not make their shape out good. A couple times we heard growls but thought nothing of them. We had lots of beer with us and my roommate always had his rifle with him, he was president of the gun and hunting club.
