Do you need a better prayer life? Do you want to feel closer to God? Do you desire more love and joy in your heart?
With this Quick-Start Action Guide, you’ll begin to intentionally work on improving your walk with God. Each day over the next seven days, you’ll explore what it means to grow in one important attitude that can help you more effectively live out your faith. The topics are:
Some of the things we have in life are ours “just because.” For example, your
nationality, running water and electricity, grocery stores with plenty of food to buy, or opportunities you’ve been given in life. In some cases, we have little control over the good things we have. You might think of them as blessings, privileges, or opportunities. Maybe you take them for granted, not thinking about them often.
those in the world who don’t have these things, can help us be more aware of the world around us. And it can help us to be thankful for whatever we have, even if that doesn’t feel like a lot.
When we are thankful for what we have and, at the same time, aware of what others don’t have, this leads us to a place where we may feel uncomfortable. We’re bothered when we compare what we have to what others don’t have. When we remember that we have some
of what we have because of things out of our control, this helps us change the way we think. We become more grateful, as well as more aware ...

Do all these things; but most important,
love each other. Love is what holds you all together in perfect unity. Let the peace that Christ gives control your thinking. You were all called together in one body to have peace. Always be thankful. Let the teaching of Christ live in you richly. Use all wisdom to teach and strengthen each other. Sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God. Everything you say and everything you do should all be done for Jesus your Lord. And in all you do, give thanks to God the Father through Jesus.
Dear God, thank you for all I have.
Being humble helps us remember we’re vulnerable to losing what we have.
Humility helps us understand we may not be that far from
the same kinds of difficulties affecting others. Humility helps us recognize our own fragility, how easy it is to lose some or all of what we have.
Philippians 2:3-4: When you do things, do not let selfishness or pride be your guide. Be humble and give more honor to others than to yourselves. Do not be interested only in your own life, but be interested in the lives of others.
Dear God, give me the right attitude in my heart so that who I am on the inside reflects your love. Help me to be humble and kind. Remind me of my privileges and blessings, and help me not forget those who don’t have them. Lead me in my interactions with everyone, so I will recognize all people as being made in your image and of equal value. Amen.
Intentionally learning about people and their problems increases our ability to empathize with them, even if we don’t know how to really help them.
Romans 12:15: Be happy with those who are happy. Be sad with those who are sad.
Luke 10:25-37:
Just as God’s grace is given freely to us, we can share kindness to others.
Today, think about how you can begin blessing others with your generosity.
Deuteronomy 15:11: There will always be poor people in the land. So I command you to give freely to your brothers. Give freely to the poor and needy in your land.
Prayer focuses us. It reframes our mind so we have an abundance of God’s love and are less likely to step away from God.
Prayer ensures we tune our hearts to God and the things that matter to him. It helps us be more sensitive to the needs of others and how to help them.
2 Corinthians 7:1:
Together we can make a difference, with God’s help. Our hope is increased as we envision that together we can bring about change.
Without hope, our impact, or the impact God can provide through us, may be limited.
Hope drives love and love drives hope. It helps us see a better day for those in need. Hope empowers us to show God’s
love. It helps us have faith that things can change. Hope motivates us to act, helpi...

Mark 9:20-23:
Jesus said to the father, “You said, ‘If you can!’ All things are possible for him who believes.”
Dear God, give me more hope—hope for today, tomorrow, and the future ahead. Remind me that this world is not all there is, that there is much more to come.
