Nick held back from what he wanted to say: I’ll be here for you, too, as long as you need. Colton was Wes and Justin’s best friend, and even though Nick cared about Wes and Colton almost as much as he cared about his son, Colton might be uncomfortable hearing his friend’s dad come out and say something like that.
