“Give me your valuables wench, and no one gets hurt.” The bandit said. “Wench? Shut the hell up. Who are you, my grandpa? No one talks like that.”
“You just threw my brother across the room!” “Would it have been more polite to let him gut me? I admit I'm unfamiliar with human customs, but I doubt your greetings are that extreme.”
“You tried to kill me last night!” “Semantics.” He shrugged.
"I'm not sure what's more convincing than the threat of death." "I could name a few." "Please don't."
“Because...because you can't just kill people!” I said. “Not over something small like this, at least.” Fallon tilted his head to the side. “Small? He hit you.” “Yeah, but you can’t kill him over it!” I fully intended to get my brothers to jump him and beat him to a pulp later for sure, but not kill him. You absolutely can. It's effortless.”
“But I will refrain from killing any humans.” He said, glancing back at me. “If they are smart enough to listen.” I am a strong, independent woman. I run my own segment of the renowned Spicepepper farm, and I pay my own bills. I was absolutely not turned on by that.
No less than three days into the journey, and I was tits out in the bayou with the man who threatened my home.
mean, I'm going to take you as my wife when this is all over.” “That wasn't part of the deal, demon!” I imagine my retort would sound a lot stronger if it didn't come out so desperately. “Then you shouldn't have been so horribly interesting.”
"Yes. And in those four days, I've met your parents-" "You threatened my parents." "Semantics. We've saved each other multiple times, been naked together, and I saw you kill a giant lizard with zero hesitation." He reached over to snag me around the waist and pulled me to him. "That last one sealed the deal for me, to be honest. I've always wanted a fierce mate."
"I mean, not what I would say to the man who just beat your friend with your other friend like he was a ragdoll. But live your best life, I guess."
"No. They were rapists. Please kill rapists."
“You don’t know how long I've been waiting for someone like you. Just tell me what you need me to do. I’ll make it so good for you.”
“You leave my father out of this; you don't know what he's been through!” Without missing a beat, Usha opened the window and shouted, “Coke! He's been through a lot of coke!”
“You...can talk.” She began slowly. “And...and not just basic words either. Like rational spoken words?” “I tend to save my mindless screaming for Tuesdays.” He replied coolly.
“My...my name is Cinnamon. I’m a spice farmer traveling with another demon to destroy Myva’s phylactery. He wants to kill her for good, and I'm honestly fine with that cause she seems like a real prick. I freed you because slavery is wrong. I’m also terrified of snakes and being squeezed to death, so please let go!”
When we were riding over to the temple, she asked me if I'd kill him if I saw him during the fight for the chalice. I saw the Inn and took my chances.”
