Marriage is work, and making a long-term marriage last takes a special kind of patience, understanding, and work ethic. It also requires bravery. Any two people in a long-term relationship will tell you that it’s not for the faint of heart. Marriage is for warriors. Sometimes you might have to go to war. Not just WITH each other, but sometimes you have to go to war FOR each other.

But, before you throw in the towel, look at your person. Look at the person you chose. Try to see them with the same eyes as when you first saw them. Try to imagine what brought you together in the first place. I know in the thick of whatever it is a couple might be in the thick of, it’s easier said than done. But try.
