As he got closer, I got the feeling this was one of the plural brothers Colt had mentioned. They looked very similar, but he was clearly older and taller than Colt by a few inches and his eyes were brown. They had the same pale golden hair. His was shaved on the sides and styled messily on top. “I was just introducing myself to our new neighbor. This is Shiloh. Shiloh, this is my brother Keelan.”
I had more than just the scars on my arm, wrists, and ankles. I had two really bad ones on my stomach and one on my back shoulder. The ones on my stomach were from stab wounds that had almost killed me.
“I know. Your bedroom window is next to mine. You’ve woken me up every night since you moved in with your screaming.”
“Ah, you think I don’t like you,” Creed said with a look of understanding. “Why, because I said you keep me up at night?” He moved up in the line where the trays to collect your lunch were. He grabbed one and held it out to me. “I don’t know you enough to dislike you, but I don’t know you well enough to like you either. As for this morning, I was tired and I’m not nice to anyone when I’m tired.”
Creed’s aquamarine’s eyes met mine. “That’s what it looks like when I don’t like someone.” “Noted,” I said.
“Jealous you didn’t get a shake to share with Shiloh?” I heard Keelan ask Creed. I glanced over at Creed to see him glaring at his older brother. “Shut up,” he grumbled. Keelan just smirked.
“You can wear this while you run.” I took the shirt. “You can’t just give this to me, Creed. I need to pay for it.” “We’ll take care of it,” Colt assured.
Keelan looked to Knox. “I have the sudden urge to binge watch all the Superman movies.”
“Can you blame a girl for looking? Keelan is very pretty.” “Thanks, Shiloh,” Keelan said, his tone hinting that he was amused. My back was to him now and even though I was displaying fake bravado, there was no way I would’ve been able to look him in the eye right now without blushing like crazy. “You’re welcome,” I shot over my shoulder. Both Colt and Creed frowned. “I’ve tried to tell them that I’m the prettiest, but they’ve never believed me,” Keelan said.
“I’m fine,” I assured. “Don’t feel the need to put your clothes on because I’m here.”
“You’re wearing another man’s jersey, looking hot as hell, and we don’t like it,” Creed said bluntly.
I wrapped my arms around his neck and rested my cheek over his heart. Listening to it beat, I closed my eyes and enjoyed the cool water cascading down my body.
“Are you sure you don’t want to wait for one of your boyfriends to help?” “The twins and I are just friends,” I said quickly. He gave me the look, one that screamed sure.
One side of Knox’s mouth lifted. “I would have done it for free, but I was enjoying watching you squirm with having to ask me for help.”
“None of us want you to leave. Even if we did, the twins have imprinted on you, so we’re kind of stuck with each other now.” That made me laugh.
“Don’t do that. Don’t walk away,” he said, his livid eyes boring into me. “You talk about how you’re worried about us kicking you to the curb, but have you ever stopped to think that we feel you’ll do the same?
“If we go down that road, I’ll have to pick one of them, and that will hurt the other.” He scoffed. “They’d never make you choose.”
“I was kidding, Keelan. Of course you’re going to charge me. I would feel guilty not paying.” He shrugged. “You’re getting the girlfriend discount.” “I’m not your girlfriend.” “Want to be?” he asked with a charming smile. All I could do was blink. He laughed, shaking his head. “So adorable.”
“You’re an asshole and your sexy muscles can go to hell.”
“You stupid, muscle-headed bastard!” I yelled, grabbing for the door frame as we
“I’m not letting you leave until you sober up. So you either give me your purse or I’ll take it from you. It’s your choice.” How dare he act calm now?
“I was going to serve Shiloh,” Creed deadpanned. “Well, you’ve serviced her enough tonight,” Keelan said in a put-off tone.
“Creed had accepted his suspension because at the end of the day it was his choice to pummel that little fucker. If I had been there, that punk would have gone home in a wheelchair because he should have never put his hands on you.” My mouth opened but I had no words. “Did you only offer the money to Mr. Morgan because you felt guilty?” Knox asked. “If so, don’t you dare pay it.” “No, that’s not the only reason I did it,” I said. “Then why?” “You know why,” I shot back.
