The dead body is always pretty rude. It comes into your life and reminds you of the joke at the end; it ruins your appetite, it ruins your day.

Sometimes the last words a couple writes to each other are their signatures on the marriage license. Letters come from longing, which means that archives run on longing. You make less to archive once you get what you want.

Getting older is the most goth thing of all.
