Neither a wise nor a brave man lies down on the tracks of history to wait for the train of the future to run over him.
When you keep accumulating unfinished business, you create multiple open loops that take up mental space. Feeling overwhelmed, your mind’s natural reaction is to shut down. As a result, you find yourself stuck.
By feeling as though we aren’t good enough or being afraid of what others will think of us, we put off our dreams to a future that never arrives.
It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare, it is because we do not dare that they are difficult.
“Self-discipline is the ability to make yourself do what you should do when you should do it, whether you feel like it or not.”
Our future self is nothing more than the result of the actions we take in the present.
You must overcome your fear of rejection, lack of motivation, and the other issues that stem from the way your old brain operates.
Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle.
Lack of direction, not lack of time, is the problem. We all have twenty-four-hour days.
For some people, self-compassion may appear selfish, but it isn’t the case. In truth, if you cannot take care of yourself, you’ll have little mental energy left to take care of the people around you.
Self-compassion is the profound recognition that we are imperfect human beings trying our best.
